Like Emily said, blazers are definitely a closet essential, but a simple black one can get a little boring. Like her striped blazer, my neon blazer is an interesting twist on classic style.
This neon blazer from Gap is by far one of the craziest items in my wardrobe, but that doesn't make it unwearable. The trick to wearing a bright colored blazer, or any piece in general, is to keep the rest of the outfit really basic. I paired the blazer with a simple black skirt from Forever 21 and a white button up from Joe Fresh. This is to make sure that my blazer remains the center piece of the outfit.
Color is one of my favorite things to play around with, and I think adding a pop of color with something as structured as a blazer is really unexpected and fun!

After boyfriend jeans, button ups are probably my next favorite piece, you'll find at least 10 in my closet. This pink buffalo plaid button up from J.Crew has made its way to my list of go-to tops. The reason I love this shirt is because it is slightly oversized and doesn't have the same tailoring as a classic woman's button up. Pairing it with boyfriend jeans and a long knit cardigan puts you right in line with this season's menswear trend. To make it more feminine, I added a chunky gold necklace and bold pink accessories (including my lipstick!).
Try styling your button ups in a new way this season, hopefully we were able to spark some inspiration!

For me, button ups are my favorite piece when it comes to layering and there is no better time for layering than in the fall. Today I chose to layer my classic denim button up, from Red Tulips Apparel, with a sporty chic sweatshirt to give it a more casual look. To add another twist I wore my pearl collar necklace that makes my outfit more unique. I completed my look with dark wash jeans, knit knee socks, riding boots, and a mini messenger purse. As all the different pieces come together, this makes for a cute and casual everyday fall outfit that all started with a classic button up.

Button ups are one of the most timeless, classic, and versatile pieces. They can easily be transitioned through all four seasons, they can be dressed up or down.
I chose to wear one of my favorite button ups from J.Crew. The leopard print definitely adds a uniqueness to such a classic style.
I kept the rest of my outfit simple and all black, so that the shirt could really be the main focus. I chose to dress mine up with a skirt, tights, and loafers, but I have dressed it down with jeans plenty of times.
With button ups, the possibilities are endless.
