Happy Thanksgiving!

In honor of tomorrow, we wanted to show you some of our favorite Thanksgiving colors that are also perfect for fall. Our two favorites are burgundy and mustard yellow. They are such rich colors and they pair nicely with both black and brown.

So whether you're planning on hanging out with your family while watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in sweats, or are looking forward to dressing up for dinner, we hope that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Street Art

New York City is place filled with creativity. It can be seen in the buildings, the clothes people wear, and in the street art. This week we were doing some shopping around SoHo and Nolita. These neighborhoods are filled with some amazing street art. We took advantage of the brightly colored backgrounds which popped against our all black outfits.
Wearing all black is such a chic and easy outfit, and you can put together a bunch of different variations of it using different pieces. Claire is actually wearing a jumpsuit, with a sweater over it to make it more winter appropriate. Emily is wearing a skort, which adds a fun twist to her outfit. Lexie put a snakeskin belt around a rather plain shift dress, to add shape and a different texture. And we all put on a statement pair of shoes to make the monochrome outfit more fun.
So next time you think your all black outfit may be a little too boring, don't be afraid to add a bright accessory to keep it interesting.

Our Favorite Lipsticks

Lexie: Mac Lipstick in Ruby Woo

Like a bold bag or a statement necklace, lipstick is a great accessory that can transform any outfit, and different shades can do different things. Claire's playful bright pink lipstick adds an unexpected pop to an outfit that might need some color. Emily's mauve lipstick is a great, more neutral shade to just swipe on before you head out the door, because it can go with pretty much everything. Lexie's classic red color can be worn all year round, but its a great addition to almost any outfit around the holidays.

Trying bold colors might be intimidating, but once you find the right shades for you, wearing lipstick can become just as sweet as eating candy.

Brooklyn Walls

Today we ventured to Carroll Gardens, which is a neighborhood in Brooklyn. It has a beautiful small town setting with the cutest little shops and restaurants. And so many bright colored walls that we just had to take advantage of.

Jeans, a t-shirt, and jacket is such a classic and simple outfit, but we all decided to elevate it with our own style. Instead of a basic tee, Emily wore a lingerie-inspired tank top and paired it with her white leather jacket. Claire swapped out a regular jacket for a loose fitting black blazer, and wore a black and white striped t-shirt underneath. Lexie wore a more distressed pair of boyfriend jeans, and a blush colored cropped jacket. We all added shoes with some sort of heel not only to dress up our outfits, but also to balance out the masculine, slouchy styles of our jeans.

Another way we like to include an element of our individual styles is through our delicate personalized necklaces. Emily has one with an "e", Claire has one that says her full name, and Lexie has one in the shape of Connecticut. They are a fun and unique piece to add to any outfit.

Central Park

fall

Central Park is one of the most beautiful places in New York City year round, but it is especially breath-taking in the fall. The changing leaves and iconic spots around the park, like The Mall and the Bethesda Fountain, made for some of the prettiest backdrops.

As for our cold weather fashion, we all needed to bundle up today. All three of us kept warm in different ways- none of which involved a classic winter coat. Claire wore a sweater under her leather jacket and a bright red scarf to add a pop of color and some extra warmth. Emily used her houndstooth scarf as a wrap and wore a burgundy hat to battle the harsh wind. Lexie wore a cape, which is one of the biggest trends of the season, on this chilly fall day.

It may seem like "bundling up" means you have to look like a marshmallow, but it is all about finding the right autumn accessories.
